COAA is excited to announce the addition of LaKaya Brittian-Quander as Manager of Meetings & Events. Her addition to the staff is the first “domino” in a series of staff transitions that will be fully explained in a future announcement.
LaKaya brings a wealth of relevant experience, having worked for Safe States Alliance and Be The Match Foundation and running an event planning consulting business for 14 years.
LaKaya – or LBQ as she’s known around the office – is a graduate of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and a Certified Event Coordinator. Asked for her initial impression of COAA, she offered thanks for “the warmest, kindest welcome ever” and noted the organization’s great potential through a quote:
There exist limitless opportunities in every industry. Where there is an open mind, there will always be a frontier.
– Charles F. Kettering
A proud native of Chapel Hill (NC) and devoted Tar Heels fan, LaKaya has lived in the Atlanta area since 1995. She’s the mother of two college students and “human mom” to two mischievous dogs – Neema (a Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle mix) and Astro (a Chihuahua mix). LaKaya enjoys traveling, reading, volunteering, crafting, hiking, and cooking.
