The hard-working COAA staff has undergone – and continues to undergo – a series of transitions that involve new hires, departing people, and changing roles.

As noted in a prior announcement, we are thrilled to welcome LaKaya Brittian-Quander. She will work closely with Jill McKenzie through the spring conference in Austin and take over as COAA’s Meetings & Events Manager later this year.

Meanwhile, Jill has already begun transitioning to her new role as Manager of Membership & Sponsorship, replacing Lucie Castro, our current Membership Manager. Jill has prior association experience with – and a deep passion for – membership, so this is a move we are all very excited about.

So where is Lucie going? Thankfully, just to a new role with COAA. She has already begun the transition to Administration & Operations Manager, a position that has been vacant for over a year. No one on the staff knows and believes in COAA more than Lucie, and this “jack-of-all-trades” role will suit her and COAA well.

These changes would be more than enough for a small organization, but there’s one more. In early January, COAA’s Manager of Marketing & Communications departed and we moved quickly to find an experienced “Mar/Com” consultant to fill the gap. Ashley Dale of Atlanta-based DB Consulting is now under contract and already working on several tasks, including the now-digital Owners Perspective magazine and promotions for chapter meetings, OTI offerings, webinars, and the spring conference in Austin.

We believe all of these changes will infuse our team with renewed excitement for COAA initiatives and result in a more dynamic and responsive home office. We ask for your patience and understanding as we work through the details and settle into new roles over the coming weeks and months. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback as we get underway with these transitions.
