COAA has had a successful 13-year relationship with Lisa DeGolyer, Val Delaney, and The Valisade Group. In 2003 we offered two conferences, one Owner Training Institute (OTI) course, and were distributing our own contract documents. As a result of our partnership and The Valisade Group’s efforts and dedication, COAA’s membership has grown to more than 2,000 members and our programs have expanded to include over 40 annual events including the Spring/Fall Owners Leadership Conferences, OTI courses, chapter workshops, and webinars.
Given this news and the continued growth of the association, the Board of Directors made the decision to transition from an outsourced business model to a stand-alone organization. Our Executive Director, Karen Bresson, will manage and operate the association with staff members who are direct employees of COAA. Karen and The Valisade Group are working closely together, and in collaboration with the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, to ensure a seamless transition to the new business model which will be fully in place by the end of this year.
We assure our members, sponsors, partners, and vendors that it will be business as usual for COAA as we complete this transition over the coming months. COAA programs, products, and services will continue to be offered and available to our members. And, The Valisade Group will be with us at our Fall Conference in Atlanta.
The Valisade Group has made substantial contributions to the success of COAA. We thank them for their commitment and dedication throughout the years. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
